Whey Protein
Whey protein itself has shown to help lower you blood sugar level especially after a meal. It’s essential for body lifting, which is used for muscle development. Protein can be mostly found in meat, dairy and soy. Soy protein must be avoided as it is a toxin for your body. Vegans and Vegetarian are most likely to be deficient in protein which is why it is considered to be extremely unhealthy. One thing you need to be well aware of when taking whey protein are the ingredients that are put with the protein powder. Protein does not taste very good so the manufactures are always putting things in the ingredients to sweeten it and make it more palatable. The two main ingredients you want to avoid that are most commonly added include: artificial sweeteners (such as aspartame and/or sucralose) and Trans fat (partially hydrogenated oils). The best one that I have found is called pro optimal whey which is made from milk from grass-fed cows. These cows are not exposed to growth hormones or pesticides. No artificial sweeteners or trans- fats are added. Since these cows are naturally fed the whey protein that comes from them have added health benefits that regular whey may not. Some of the health benefits include: fighting free radicals, liver detoxification and immune system support. Be sure that you are not allergic to whey as is may potentially harm you if you have an allergy. People are usually less likely to be allergic to pro optimal whey due to the way it is produced. You can take a blood test to see if you are allergic to whey or any other substances. |
